Not only will 4 out of 5 contractor businesses fail within 5 years, most of the contractor listings that you see in the yellow pages today will not be there in 3 years.

As a potential customer, you need to be aware of some practices used in the construction industry that inevitably lead to so many failed businesses.

Among the few reputable companies, there are many that operate by not only low-balling estimates by hiring cheap, inexperienced, and untrained help, but by also buying materials that are on sale from the large home improvement stores.  These companies are not approved by any major materials manufacturer because the quality of their work is not able to be warrantied.  Their main motivation is the quick sale and not the ongoing relationship with the customer.

If you take a moment to think about how many times you want your job done right, whether that job is replacing a window, building a deck, or building an addition to your home, you'll agree that you want your job done right the first time.  Shouldn't you therefore take the time to select someone carefully?  Shouldn't you select someone who will be there next year and whose work is also approved by the manufacturer?  And, shouldn't you select someone who, above all, values their reputation.

The price estimate for a project is of course the bottom line, but as a customer you want to make sure that your project will also be done right the first time with quality craftsmanship.

We at Prime Contractors, Inc. not only guarantee the most competitive prices, but we also take tremendous pride in our work and get the most gratification from repeat customer business.

When hiring a Windows/Siding/Roofing Contractor or Company, here are a few guidelines to follow:

1.  Make sure that your contractor is licensed, bonded, and insured.

2.  Ask how long the Contractor/Company has been in business under the same name.  Be wary of companies in business less than 3 years.  (Prime Contractors, Inc. was incorporated 1999).

3.  Request a list of references in your area, complete with names and telephone numbers.  Any reputable contractor will be more than willing to give you a list of references.
